SOUTHERN BAKED PIES
BRANDING
THE CHALLENGE
Buttermilk Pie Company approached Forum Communications at an important juncture in their business development. Since opening in Gainesville, Ga., in 2012, the company had established a strong marketplace presence and loyal customer base. At that point, things had gone well enough that Buttermilk Pie was preparing to open two new locations in the Atlanta marketplace.
Because of this development, they wanted to show they were more than a small-town dessert shop. Specifically, Buttermilk Pie needed to rename and rebrand the business to better communicate its full range of offerings. At the same time, they wanted to retain their southern charm, and establish an E-commerce presence.
HOW WE HELPED
The Forum Communications team brainstormed and arrived at a new name: Southern Baked Pie Company. We designed a logo and brand mark that highlights the company’s attention to detail and appreciation for masterful creations.
To complete the rebranding effort, we applied the logo and brand mark to print collateral and building signage. We also developed a new responsive E-commerce website, one that was designed and put into place by the Forum Communications team.

IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Despite an eager customer base in the Gainesville-Hall County area, the Atlanta market wants things done in an exclusive manner, including with digital sales. Therefore, Forum Communications worked hard to combine an air of gentility with style and sophistication for the entirety of Southern Baked’s branding.
The coloration and script font utilized throughout the print marketing – including brochures and packaging – evokes a sense of fashion and refined tastefulness. And we supported that style in our writing throughout. That also includes in the E-commerce development that we created for the Southern Baked website. This feel of a crafted, handmade product helped frame Southern Baked Pie’s surge into Atlanta – a rise that has continued into a regional brand.
