Day in the Life: Glen Kyle
What is your title?
Account Manager & Resident Historian
What does that mean?
I’m the primary liaison between respective clients and the rest of the creative teams at Forum. But you may be asking yourself “why does a strategic marketing firm need a historian?” Easy: because our whole world is rooted in the past, and having someone who can provide historical context for ideas, campaigns, and content provides a more meaningful impact for our client’s voice and messages.
What’s your favorite thing about the Forum culture?
While I’m still fairly new, I’m struck by the dedication to do quality work for our clients and the emphasis on work-life balance for the team; it’s a rare thing and I’m so glad to be a part of it. The folks here are supportive, inspiring, helpful, and just plain fun to be around.
What social media platform do you use most often?
I personally tend to use Facebook almost exclusively, because I’m “a man of a certain age.” And to drive that point home even more, I must confess that I miss MySpace… can you imagine the promotional opportunities if THAT was still around?
What do you like best about your job?
There’s always something different to do, and someone new to meet. The variety of clients we serve means we are constantly learning new things to serve their needs… it keeps me on my toes!
What time do you get up?
Usually between 6:30 and 7 a.m. Any later than that and I feel like I’ve wasted the best part of the day… but sometimes that’s exactly what Saturday mornings are for!
How do you take your coffee?
Coffee? No thanks; I’m not a barbarian. Twinings English Breakfast Tea for me, please. And with a scone, if I can get a good one.
When you aren’t working what are you doing?
Reading a book (always non-fiction), watching a movie, spending time with family, or hiking in the woods.
Tell us about your family.
Priscilla, my beloved wife and best friend of 25 years, is a nurse and mom. My oldest son, Brendan, just started college (!) and the younger, Andrew, is about to move up to high school. Despite the family being in a whirling midst of transitions, we all still seem to like each other and enjoy spending time travelling or just sitting at home binge watching shows…Once we agree on what to watch.
