A day in the life: Matt, Chief Engagement Officer
Name: Matt Dubnik
What is your title? Chief Engagement Officer
What does that mean? It means that my job is to engage people, of all kinds, from our team to our community partners to our clients, and our prospective clients. My job is to listen, assess need, suggest direction and strategy to be implemented, while helping the Forum Team jump in to begin doing amazing things for our clients.
What’s your favorite thing about the Forum culture? That there are zero egos, and that everyone is incredibly quick to pitch in to help out. It’s about the quality of the product, not who gets the pat on the back.
If you weren’t working at Forum, what do you think you would be doing? I would be fundraising, in some fashion, for nonprofits; and also involved in countless startups.
What social media platform do you use most often? Facebook. I’m a dinosaur that still likes the platform.
What might you find yourself doing around 10 a.m. on a regular work day? Buried somewhere in a proposal, or in HTML.
What motto do you live by? A country boy can survive where corn don’t grow.
What are your top sources of news and how often do you check them? ESPN, Facebook and AccessWDUN.com. I check each multiple times per day.
What’s one thing you wish you knew as a recent college graduate? That there is plenty of time to worry about how many zeros are in your paycheck. Life is about more than money, and you should seek happiness first. Not a paycheck.
What time do you get up? Between 6:15 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., depending on what time my wife’s alarm clock goes off.
How many times do you snooze? None. When the bell goes off, I’m wide awake.
How do you take your coffee? With two packs of the yellow stuff.
When you aren’t working what are you doing? Dreaming about duck hunting.
Describe yourself in one word. Passionate.
